Surely you will know China rose, Chinese (or Hawaiian) hibiscus, - TopicsExpress

Surely you will know China rose, Chinese (or Hawaiian) hibiscus, which is a species of a floweringplant, which is native to East Asia (China). Hibiscus is a tropical plant, usually grown as an indoor plant, but you can also cultivate it outside. It loves much light (even direct sun light at least a few hours a day). It is very important, if you want to enjoy its flowers. The more sunlight you give the plant, the more flowers will be on your Hibiscus tree. From the beginning - when you place your plant directly on the sunny place, the leaves may turn yellow. But it´s just a temporary state. So let the plant become accustomed. Because of the less light in winter, your plant will also need much light. Hibiscus doesn´t need to much heat in the summer, and also in the winter season is better to keep the plant in a frost-free but cold area. As regards claims for irrigation, Hibiscus needs much watering, but do not leave it in a pot full of water. Beware over-watering when your plant stands in the heat area. In this case, the leaves may look wilted a bit. The soil needs to dry up between waterings to protect from root rot, even in summer, when it´s blooming. In the winter time, when the plant is placed in colder place, you can water the plant even less. Beware to water with cold water. For prolific flowering, hibiscus must have regular feedings every week during the growth period, March-October. I usually water with fertilizer and then water the plant with clean water. It´s good for blooming and it prevents salt build up in the pot. Never fertilize completely dried out plant - it may damage the roots. This rule applies to all plants, whether blooming or decorated with leaves. For regular blooming it is the best to keep the plant in a pot, which limits it a bit. Even in spite of this fact, replanting is needed, which usually carries out in spring, February-March. Avoid replant the plant in a large pot, replant it in a bit larger pot than before. And if you want your plant to look compactly or want to stimulate budding, you´ll have to prune the plant. The best time for pruning hibiscus is August-October. Prune off weak growth or sideways growing branches. Other time for pruning is spring. Then you can multiply your plant. Surely you´ll find on your plant a few yellow leaves on. It is a common thing. But remember, the most common causes of yellowing leaves are under-watering, over-watering in the hot place, drastic environmental changes (when you put the plant ouside on the sunny place) or pest invasions, especially spider mites. Did you know? Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is the national flower of Malaysia. #hibiscus #chinarose #flowers #plants #greenhouse #indoorplants #kvety #rastliny #flora #zahradkar #cinskaruza
