Surprised our Pastor yesterday with a Thanksgiving potluck. What he did not know was that it was a belated Pastor appreciation dinner. We have not done a Thanksgiving potluck in a few years, so I decided we should reinstitue that old tradition at our church with a little twist. Pastors wife does the church newsletter, so she wrote the original letter for him to proofread. After he had done so, she went back on her computer & added the part that the potluck was a SURPRISE (Pastor Mike Appreciation Dinner). The church president said the blessing after church service & did a little speech. The Sunday School teacher had had a lesson for the kids on what it means to be a Pastor & had the kids make him cards. The little ones marched in at the end of the service to present their cards to Pastor Mike & let us all know what each of them had written on their cards. Poor Mike was in near tears; needed a group hug from the kids. He was very surprised & very pleased. Good good food, oh my, oh my. I did not need dinner after that! Lunch was plenty.
