Surrounding yourself with people who bring you up is far different than surrounding yourself with people who put others down in an effort to paint the illusion that they are up. Likewise, feeling good about yourself by putting others down is far different than feeling comfortable in your own skin enough to recognize that everyone and every experience is neither good, bad, weird, superior or inferior, they are simply reflections of yourself, and therefor, learning opportunities. Our emotions towards experiences are, in reality, our own securities or insecurities speaking back to us.
