Sustain Blaine awarded $81,000 Idaho Department of Commerce grant Sustain Blaine has received a three-year Rural Idaho Economic Development Professional grant from the Idaho Department of Commerce. The program’s intent is to build economic development capacity in rural Idaho through providing funds to help employ economic development professionals. The economic development professional, working with a board of directors, will manage projects and programs regarding business attraction, retention, expansion and diversification. This funding helps to leverage matching local funds, from both the public and private sectors. “This grant award is a strong affirmation that our action plan is starting to deliver successful economic development results throughout the Sun Valley region,” said Sustain Blaine Executive Director Harry Griffith. “We are pleased to renew this important relationship with the Idaho Department of Commerce.” “We are pleased to support the continued efforts of Sustain Blaine in encouraging the growth of existing Idaho businesses and attracting new business to region, creating new jobs and economic opportunities for residents of the area,” said Jeffery Sayer, director of the Idaho Department of Commerce.
