As per data available with the Ministry of Urban Development, Chandigarh ranks as cleanest city of India. By 2016, civic administration of the city is also aiming for it to become first solar city. 2. Surat, Gujarat - Diamond city Surat, previously known as Suryapur is in Gujrat state. Surat is also called the city of flyovers. Now this city has added another feather to its cap of being one of the cleanest cities in India. 3. Delhi Cantt - This area in the capital city of India is one of those places which are fast becoming a role model for those wanting to keep their cities, localities clean. It is due to the effort of local administration and the armed forces who populate this area that this has been made possible 4. Tiruchirappalli - A city located on the banks of the Kaveri river in Tamil Nadu. Tiruchirappalli, this citys history goes back to 3rd century BC. Jamshedpur, Jharkhand - According to the Ministry of Urban Development, Jamshedpur is fit to be included in Swach Bharat: Cleanest cities of India list of ours. This steel city is also one of the most cleanest cities in India all thanks to its residents and local administration.
