Swiss modern metal band The Erkonauts released their debut album I Did Something Bad on June 21st. (Two full tracks from the album [Bandcamp], and an extra Album Preview Playthrough link [Youtube] are at bottom of post for your perusal). Sub-Genres: Industrial, Progressive, Heavy Metal. Containing members of Sybreed, and Djizoes:, The Erkonauts bring some fresh elements to the genre with their first release. Ales Campanelli from Sybreed on vocals. Upon giving their whole album by The Erkonauts a playthrough, its clear that bands like big bands such as Metallica, Disturbed, Primus, and even Pink Floyd are influential in The Erkonauts sound. This is an engaging album, and I had fun listening to it. The production values on this album are excellent and have been handled by Thomas Drop Betrisey of Sybreed at Downtone Studio. Containing 9 tracks, theres a fair amount of diversity which keeps this album from sounding samey and the influences listed above are a good indication of this. What stands out the most to me personally on this album is the bass, its certainly prominent (unlike many bands Ive listened to this year) - the bass doesnt feel lost in the background. Youll hear this from the get-go as the bass plays a major role in first two songs. If you prefer heavy, Nola and Dominium Mundi are my personal recommendations. My personal favourites are Tony 5, and 9 is Better than 8. I could go into intense detail of each track, however Id prefer to link you two full tracks and also an album preview (below) so you can hear the album for yourself. I Did Something Bad is worth the purchase of around $10CUF (About $11.30 AUD/USD). Score - 8/10 \m/ (Dan) -Check out two full tracks from the album here: erkonauts.bandcamp/album/all-the-girls-should-die -Album Preview Playthrough: youtube/watch?v=7cLHCxI5fWk
