TBT: Some of you who have been Droolers for a long time may remember my Miss Ashley B. Hound. She was my first basset ever and how I got involved in Rescue and TriState Basset Rescue back in 1993! Ashely was quite a character and DIVA to the extreme!! She was a noble rabbit hunter (caught 11 of them), she was a comedian and she could fly.. yes she flew down many a flight of steps to trample my dad when he came in the house.. she was tiny but could counter surf with the best of them and she loved butter and pizza!! She was very photogenic and DID NOT EVER sit on the ground with the commoners because she WAS NOT A DOG!!! LOL Dawn Vankeuren you remember that right? :) This was the racing outfit she wore for one of the waddles where her and Dawns Sydney B. Hound raced to the finish line. Although Sydney was quite younger then her at the time, Miss Ashley won the race because well... She WOULD NOT have it any other way!! :) Ashley raised lots of money for her rescue and homeless friends in her 8 short years. Queen Feyfey was her friend! Ashley was in many calendars and even a few books about bassets that were published. I only had her for 8.5 short years when she died of a rare form of cancer. She was all personality and all DIVA!!!! She died 10-14-01 but not a day goes by that I dont miss her or think about her. My Gracie reminds me a lot of her. :)
