TBT to 1959 and Fentons Semisesquicentennial (125 years) 4th of July parade. Thanks for the idea, Paulette J Edwards. My dad and mom fashioned a covered wagon and borrowed a couple of mules from cousins in Durand. I got to ride in the wagon with my dad and Uncle Frank Buell (3 generations). The ponies in the first photo were ridden by the Pinkstons: Russ, dad John, and Bill (Mary Jane Pinkston). Yvonne Cull Laings dad also rode with us. The parade queens were the Nierescher twins, of Johnnies Greenhouse family of N. Leroy Street. And the final photo is an artist doing portraits on the street, who happened to be the mother of my future son-in-law, Christopher Phillips.
