THANK YOU KIDD. By Frank Reed, as heard on 94.9 KLTY - 8am, July 29th 2013 Here at the Family Friendly Morning Show we always do our best every morning to start your day in a positive way. Playing your favorite songs. Bringing you the information you need to start your day. Hopefully we put a smile on your face, or your child’s face. It’s something we love to do. But today, it’s hard. The people that do what we do for a living, radio people, we share a common bond. It’s a fellowship of sorts. So when one has left us way too early, it’s a time to stop, reflect, honor, give thanks, and pray. David “Kidd” Kraddick passed away suddenly on Saturday at the age of 53. We’ve talked in the past of celebrities passing, but for us who make a living on the radio, this is different. Kidd was one of us. A radio guy. Even though we never met, I can relate. Getting up in the middle of the night to come to work because you love what you do. Going the extra mile because you want to get it right, and you want to make a difference. He obviously loved his daughter, his family, his job, his co-workers, his friends, and his Kidd’s Kids. He helped so many. And leaves a legacy of professionalism rarely seen in our business, and a legacy of unselfishly serving others, especially his beloved Kidd’s Kids and their families. So today we stop everything for a moment at KLTY. And we say Thank You Kidd. Times like this are also a reminder that you and I have no guarantees for tomorrow. It is written that our lives are like a vapor, here for a moment, and then we are gone. The day is coming for each and every one of us. So it begs the question, are you ready? I am here at this moment to tell you, you can be. It’s as simple as this; God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. I speak on behalf of multitudes listening right now, who have had their life radically changed by putting their faith and trust in Jesus. It gives you a reason and a purpose for living, and the guarantee of spending eternity in heaven. I urge you to put trust in Him today. The best gift you can give your family, friends and loved ones is the assurance of them knowing without a shadow of a doubt that when you’re gone, they know where you are. For the faithful listeners of KLTY, would you please pray for the family, friends, and co-workers of Kidd Kraddick. That God would comfort them and sustain them during this difficult time. Thank you. (I Can Only Imagine, Mercy Me w/ The London Symphony Orchestra) And may I say one more time, thank you Kidd.
