THAT ENDORSEMENT BY THE PDP Our attention has been drawn to media reports of a purported endorsement of the Senate President as the sole candidate of the PDP for the Benue South Senatorial District in the 2015 elections. Even though this does not come as a surprise, owing to the pedigree of the party, I had foreseen such a development a long time ago, and this was responsible for my decision, early enough, to change my political affiliation, knowing that at the last minute, the party can pull one out of their many bags of tricks, and short change genuine aspirants. The point must however be made that the beauty of multi-party democracy is the freedom of choice. The purported endorsement by the PDP does not in any way, represent the opinion of the people of Zone C, and when the time comes, the people will have the opportunity to express their dissatisfaction with the current state of things back home, by voting according to the dictates of their conscience, irrespective of party affiliation. On my part, I assure you that I remain committed to the course of positive change, and at the appropriate time, I will provide that platform to enable our people decide how they want to shape their future and that of our children. I really think that charity begins at home, and the effectiveness of our political representatives should be judged by their contributions towards the development of their constituencies, which is their primary duty, and not otherwise. I believe that the overwhelming silent majority of our people will vote according to their innermost feelings, without fanfare, and that the outcome will be the biggest surprise of this century yet.
