THAT WOULD BE THE MOST FITTING TRIBUTE....... I am still trying to come out of trauma of loosing Gopinathji Munde so suddenly. India records approx. 300 accidents per day and I feel like crying to see the salvagable lives being lost due to callous and careless approach by one and all. We, who boast of technological advances in the last two decades have cared less for road safety We have fast cars and careless approach. We need to work on:- 1) Improving the issue, monitoring, revalidifaction of licenses 2.) improve road conditions and make them safe 3) cultivation of safe driving culture 4) improvements in the automobiles. e.g. 1 Visual acuity and colour perception. 2.Checking the reflexes and their sharpness with advancing age 3.Minimum literacy level before embarking upon driving 4.Drunken driving a culpable act , no bail and life long ban on driving. 5.Monetary Fines ...a component diverted to road safety. 6.CSR of automobile sector ...for road safety. 7.Accredited driving schools only to conduct training. 8.All safety measures in a car even in a Lxi version. 9. Safety of occupants and pedestrians is neither luxury nor optional 10.Good Samaritan Law to be introduced and passed. 11. Rear seat occupants seat belts immediately to be made compulsory 12. Baby and pets in car are drivers responsibility and special measures to be taken for their safety. 13. Helmets for pillion, and driver, reflectors on bikes , mirrors Compulsory 14. Speed driving of cars and bikes to be forbidden by law. 15. Breaking of a signal even on an empty road should frisk away the license. 16 A -ve points system to be introduced for the driving errors and breaking of signals.
