THE APOSTLE JOHN OBSERVES A SILENT MAJORITY’S PREFERENCE FOR THE PRAISE OF MEN MORE THAN SUSTAINING THE HONOR OF THE SON OF GOD. Even though Jesus had done so many miracles before them, yet they did not believe Him and so the words of Isaiah, the prophet might as well be fulfilled. Isaiah said: “Lord, who will believe our report, because to whom was the power of the Father shown?” They could not believe Isaiah, because they have blinded their eyes and hardened their heart; so that they could not see nor understand the outcomes of their decisions. Therefore they could not be converted and are unable to heal themselves. These things Isaiah spoke, after he saw His glory and spoke to the Son of God. Many among the Temple authorities believed Jesus, but the great power of the Pharisees stopped them and they did not acknowledged Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue, for they preferred the praise of men more than the honor of the Son of God. Jesus affirmed with urgency: “He who believes on Me, does not have to believe Me, but at least he will also believe Him, Who sent Me. Then he, has a witness of My works will also testify of Him, who sent Me. I am come as a Light into this world, so that whosoever believes Me should not remain in darkness and if any man heard My words and believe it not, I will not be his judge, for I came not to be a Judge to this world, but to redeem it for My Father. Therefore, he who rejects Me or will not receive My words will have another one, who judges him today, but the words I have spoken shall be the measure against him as he is judged in the last day. For I have not spoken of Myself, but of the Father, who sent and instructed Me, what I should say and what I should speak. I know that a covenant with Him will results in everlasting life and whatsoever I speak, I do it even as I have promised the Father. And so do I speak.” Compare to John 12: 37-50
