THE ART OF THANKING BRILLIANTLY This Thursday marks the American holiday of Thanksgiving, a time where families and friends come together and embrace all that makes us who we are. For some, this can be a daunting task. The people closest to us can sometimes be the hardest to be around, especially when life situations and personal preferences take precedence. Luckily for us, we have a resource that makes even the trickiest of situations on Earth an exercise in joy. “Heaven is attracted to us. The Kingdom wraps around us, and all the permissions of God are Yes and Amen in Jesus. In Christ we keep all our thinking inside the boundaries of Gods love, His grace, His kindness, and His mercy so that we are empowered by His goodness towards us, so that in Jesus our emotions come from a heart of rejoicing, thanksgiving, and gratitude. All of our emotions should be touched by joy.” That’s an excerpt from The Art Of Thinking Brilliantly, a teaching series that has changed the lives of thousands of people all around the world. It explains the best methods for living a Kingdom lifestyle on the Earth, and one of the most important is simply dipping into the resources that God has already provided us. All of the fruit of the Spirit – patience, love, gentleness, mercy, grace – are ripe for the picking, so be sure to take a few of them along as side dishes for your Thanksgiving meal this year! Thinking brilliantly is one thing. Living brilliantly is another. It’s easiest to be positive and passionate when everything is going your way, but doing the BRILLIANT thing in the face of adversity or difficult make it an all the more powerful experience. Not only does being gracious, patient or peaceful benefit and empower you, it could change a circumstance from bad to better. In fact, it could be the tipping point that makes someone shrug off negativity and embrace a better, more brilliant approach to a situation. Now THAT is something everyone involved can be thankful for! So whether you’re celebrating Thanksgiving this week or not, make a decision to bring a little bit of Heaven to Earth. Bring the kindness, the goodness and the mercy of God down with an act or two of kindness, goodness or mercy. An awkward conversation? Embrace some grace. A difficult customer? Let patience lead the way. A pessimistic perception? Shine the light of goodness to eradicate the darkness! This week, with the Kingdom wrapped around you, be sure to hug it back! - The BBH Team
