THE BEST FIVE GIFTS I RECEIVED THIS CHRISTMAS: 1. An unexpected text message from a priest friend that I and my family are included in the special intentions of his midnight Christmas mass. Nothing can be greater than a Holy Mass as a gift. Thank you Lord for your gift of the Eucharist. 2. Blessing of a safe trip despite aborted landings, cancelled flights and tense airport situations due to trip unpredictability for almost two days. As a result, am very thankful that I was able to come home to Legazpi and attend Christmas Mass with my 88 year-old Mother. Thank you Lord for your protection and for my parents. 3. Surprise visit on Christmas Day from cousins whom I am meeting for the first time as they left Legazpi when I was very young. Bless their trip on their long journey back. Thank you Lord for the gift of family and kinship. 4. A text message to confirm that a colleague who was in very critical condition in intensive care unit the past months with multiple health issues and whom we have been praying for was discharged from the hospital on Dec 22. Similarlly thankful to note other friends who had severe health issues on their paths to recovery. Thank you Lord for the gift of renewed health and shower more to those still in need of them, Also thankful for an army of prayer partners (including my priest friends) who prayed for my friends whom they dont know at all. Thank you Lord for the gift of friends. 5. Spending time with people who matter in trips, visits, and celebrations, in weddings and birthday celebrations this month, including a special family gathering tomorrow to celebrate His everlasting Light brought about by His birth. Thank you Lord for the gift of time spent wisely with people I love. Praying for more time to spend with other relatives and friends who matter but whom I failed to spend time with this year. The Lord be praised forever and ever, amen. Christmas Day 2014
