THE BLUES` FANS HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT THE GOV` NOR. Most football watchers, especially the Blues` fans may have been pondering about what`s happening to the scoring myth of their main striker. While this puzzle goes in the minds of these Chelsea supporters, one thing must also be made clear and that is that when a player is noted for high profile scoring; the opponent team boss would usually build a wall of players around such striker. The obvious objective is usually, not only to frustrate the player`s efforts, but that of his team in general. However, there appears to have been a phenomenal change as the Chelsea soccer star, Diego Costa exhibited that he is still capable of scoring goals after going four games without scoring. The Spanish international scored off an Eden Hazard pass to cap off a 2-0 victory over Hull City at Stamford Bridge. The Blues needed a big response after losing to Newcastle and they did not have to wait too long. Though this was the expectations, but it is often forgotten that in the game of soccer, it is a game of equal number of players. But without much delay, Hazard gave them an early lead when he headed home an Oscar cross on seven minutes. Chelsea controlled the game, as Hull offered little resistance. Some fans were already beginning to worry about Costa as his mini-drought was certainly a cause for concern. After his incredible performance at the start of the season, it seemed like he suddenly came to a halt, but the truth is that he didn’t. Having scored 11 Premier League goals in 12 appearances was already fantastic, but he’s now at 12 in 13. Costa has nothing to ponder yet, his time at Atletico Madrid tells it all. Scoring 20 from the wing in the same team as a rabid Radamel Falcao does him enough justice, but the 35 after Falcao’s departure proves his class. Out of all the great strikers to have graced the Vicente Calderon, Costa is the ONLY one to help the Rojiblancos overthrow Real Madrid and Barcelona en route to the La Liga title. Fernando Torres, Sergio Aguero, Diego Forlan and of course Falcao, were all phenomenal strikers for Atletico, but none of them can boast winning a league title in Spain. Costa is the real deal, although he does have a downside which was consequent of the yellows cards picked, which is almost at par with his goal-scoring. But in all, the positives more than outweigh the negatives. At this stage in the season, he is only eight away from 20 — which is respectable for any striker. He is expected to surpass that mark of course, but if he doesn’t, his first season in England would have still been a good one. Relatively, the club legend -Didier Drogba didn’t get off to such an insane eminence as he did not get more than the 16-goal mark until his third season with Chelsea. By these standards and many others — Blues’ fans have nothing to worry about.
