THE BROUHAHA OF JOKOWI’S CANDIDACY. There is no gainsaying the fact that nationwide excitement in terms of Jokowi nomination as the would-be president of Indonesia has sparked several positive responses amid disgruntled society who are concerned with his blatant treasonous act that seems to infuriate predominantly Jakarta residents in the extreme. He is considered disloyal to the fiasco-ravaged capital and prefer to indulge in the hustle and bustle of presidential election that will materialize in September . Most people are fed up with broken promises by politicians who delight in pursuing power, yet they do not feel daunted by such a grotesque condition to channel their aspiration to opt the right candidate to lead this simmering country. Jokowi might have succeeded in being the mayor of Solo in his first term on which he was able to make some stunning breakthroughs to adjust the town completely and to boost the economy by reviving traditional markets which had been in the doldrums for quite a long time . H owever, he must deal with his opponents who may prepare to assault him by inveighing against his unfulfilled policies as he is deemed a formidable adversary whose potential cannot be underrated . He is said to have worked frenetically and caused myriads of unsolved problems that unrelentingly beset the megapolitan city such as flood, traffic jam, fire, and so on. His well-known BLUSUKAN (impromptu visits) intended to keep him close to the residents and be able to orchestrate more valuable solution to their grievances are perceived as a failure since plethora of them still find it difficult to obtain an access to cheap medication he rants about as the panacea for their stalemate as paupers. What is more, his charisma is being questioned as he is unable to render Tanah Abang’s street vendors to remain in Blok G of the South East Asia’s largest market so as not to throng the street and cause grave congestion. Thus, in spite of his ineffective formula of managing the city, it is incomprehensible that he is keen of running for the presidency, shirking the responsibility of keeping his promises during the runoff election to usher Jakarta to a better new one that will provide the residents with affordable amenities. As a matter of fact, they were formerly dubious about his candidacy for gubernatorial election inasmuch as the previous governors proved to be incompetent in handling Jakarta’s major problems such as deluge and congestion that remain a specter to the area notwithstanding their great attempts. Now, the onus falls upon him when he successfully allayed their fear with a number of innovations he devised along with his running mate, Ahok. He unrelentingly strives to strut his stuff in undertaking a number of urban predicaments that become a prolonged nuisance to the entire society and are accordingly detrimental to their health, yet the expected result appears to come for naught and everything is still out of control and starts to depress them egregiously. It is of paramount importance for him not to run this time since he is entrusted to settle matters concerning the province as soon as possible so that such will pave his way for the next presidency without any obstacles. Otherwise, if he insists on running, things will turn awry and hectic, impeding his way to such an extent that he will deal with disillusioned people who feel betrayed and may do any harm to him beyond his imagination.
