THE COMMUNITY AT THE EDGE Government at all level anywhere in the world is statutorily responsible in protecting lives & properties as well as providing basic infrastructures that will enhance the smooth run of the state apparatuses. Therefore Nigeria, kwara state & Kaiama LGA should not share away from their responsibilities. Recently, a preposterous statement was made on Kaiama/Kishi road by the state govt. that the community should sort it way out to meeting the federal govt. on the Kaiama/Kish road. I want to believe that it was a mere speculation, but if it turns out true that is a big BIMBO to the entire people of KAIAMA. Shame on us for all the accolades we sang in favour of the kw/st govt. on the phantom Kaiama/Kishi road contract award. Shame on the Kwara state govt. for staging this ridiculous game & showing the world that they have failed in delivering their promises made when rigging election in 2011. However, the future of Kaiama strongly relies on the network of roads connecting it to other parts of the world serving as a window/vehicle of development. In my thinking as an individual I expect by now with that kind statement from the state government, the community, as a matter of urgency should have mobilized people in a more matured & coordinated way to match people to Ilorin to raise placards with different messages in protest to the soaring infrastructural status. Unfortunately many of us for selfish reasons will not want to take the lead or encourage such proactive moves to air the banes slowing us down cos they don’t want their names blacklisted in the coffer of political appointment. For how long do you think you’ll remain relevant in the political dynasty of Kwara state that don’t even respect your worth nor the people you represent? Technically, in more organized civilized communities this absurdity perpetuated by the state govt. is enough a reason to boycott activities of the state, refuse to take/ resign any political appointment in protest to the unfair treatments of the people you’re chosen to represent. But for the love of greed, pervasive poverty, naivety & cowardice the leaders I see in the front line now lack the will & charisma to take it up with the state govt. while, the growing apathy/split amongst community dwellers on matters relating to our existence had made a number of people insomniac For how long are we going to continue with this naked hatred orchestrated by few individuals who thinks they’re the state champs? Let’s own up that we are weak & our loyalty has been taken for granted by the state govt. Lets for the sake of what is binding us secure our space & future or else our doom is due anytime soon. Gladiators the time is now to put ourselves together to graduate from the hitherto school of fiasco. The people are looking up to you. May Allah give us the strength to move on.
