THE CRUELEST MONTH “April is the cruelest month,” says T. S. Elliot in his poem “The Waste Land.” Every month has its own cruelties, but April records many injustices. It’s when we remember the Jewish Holocaust, Armenian Genocide, assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., massacre @ Waco, Texas (1993), Rwandan Genocide (1994), Oklahoma City bombing (1995), Columbine High Sch & Virginia Tech shootings (1999; 2007), Ivory Coast massacre (2011), Boston Marathon bombing (2013). But the cruelest April occurred 2,000 years ago when Christ was betrayed, tried unjustly, tortured & executed by crucifixion. Questions about your “April experiences” of injustice?
