Assistive listening and alerting devices to help you connect with the world around you Presented by John Kinstler Do you want to enhance your life with technology and be “connected” to your world? This presentation is for you! Whether you were born with hearing loss or have had a gradual or sudden loss, there are ways to be better connected to your world. John will present assistive listening devices (ALDs) that help people with hearing loss “connect” with other people, whether one-on-one, on the phone, in a group or at meetings. Since technology is changing rapidly, this is a great opportunity to catch up or keep up with it. John Kinstler was born profoundly deaf with 80/90 dB loss in each ear, was raised orally and mainstreamed most of his childhood life. He received his first CI in 2005 and his second in 2007. John has worked in theater, created videos for Deaf children and does stand-up comedy. He has worked in the telecommunication relay service industry for over 15 years, and is currently an Outreach Marketing Manager for Ultratec, Inc./CapTel. Listening to John’s presentations is always informative and fun. John is passionate about helping people who have hearing loss but also those with multiple disabilities.
