THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS! Bernie Sanders advises that real unemployment is not 5.5%, its actually 11% once you factor those who have given up looking for work. Its easy to see the unemployment rate dropping as proof of success, but unfortunately that is not the whole story. Our labor participation rate is currently 62.7%, the lowest it has been since 1978 (as reported by CNN, Washington Post, and the Business Insider). The unemployment rate coupled with the labor participation rate tells the whole story. I may not agree with Bernie Sanders politically, but I can recognize truth when I can hear and verify it. That is the difference between being independently informed and allowing political ideology inform you. Which do you think is more dangerous? How can we fix a problem if we cant recognize that there is a problem?
