THE EMEK IKE YOU DON’T KNOW By Great Imo Jonathan According to Ambassador Emeka Ike, ‘’my objective is to contribute towards a meaningful and a lasting change, that will make our society the reference point of transformational study’’. BACKGROUND Emeka Ike was born on March 21, 1967, into the family of Mr. And Mrs. Nicholas Samuel Ike, in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo state. Chief Ike is married to Emma R. Ike and they are blessed with lovely children including; Ebuka M. Ike, mnonyerem.Ike, Dike K. Ike Adannaya Ike and Andrea Ike. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE He has been an Executive Director in Uzzi Construction Limited, since March 2009 till date. As part of his achievement in this position, the company has been involved in the execution of several projects which includes; Construction of 3 class room block at Nsukwa with Delta State Primary Education Board, Construction of 2 courtyard dormitory, and perimeter fencing with gate house at Immiringi F.G.G.C. Rural Electrification Project at Agba Ndele, Rivers State. EMEKA IKE THE EDUCATIONIST Emeka Ike is also the Chairman and Founder of St. Nicholas College, Magodo Estate, Lagos State. Started in September 2007, he laid the foundation, human and material for the smooth take-off and running of the college. In 2010, his school produced the best Junior WAEC student in Fine Arts and Business Management in Lagos State within three years of existence. Again in 2010, Chief Emeka Ike opened a film school to train young Nigerians and Africans alike in movie making and entertainment. The school which goes by the name My Academy West Africa is affiliate of Ghana’s premier institute National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI). His film school he says is founded on the philosophy that practical learning” combined with best industry practices is more valuable than only theoretical study for filmmakers and actors. This educational model allows students to achieve more in less time than at all other film or acting schools around. My Academy West Africa, is accredited in Ghana and Nigeria to offer One-year programs in Filmmaking, Acting for Film, Producing, Screenwriting, 3D Animation, Cinematography, Broadcast Journalism, Digital Photography and Game Design. In no distant time the school will be offering Accelerated Three-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree programs in Filmmaking, Acting, 3D Animation and Game Design. Emeka Ike THE FILM MAKER In March 2004, Chief Ike Established a world class digital studio for movie production and training. In line with the vision of his company CIS MOVIES AND ENTERTAINMENT LIMITED, he Secured the endorsement of Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Information and Communications for his company’s proposal on “ECOMOG” as a “Good People, Great Nation” project. A telenovela billed to celebrate Nigeria’s contributions to peace keeping around the world. His company also handles responsibilities such as; Plan, organize, and coordinate events, projects and programs. They also conceptualize business ideas, manage projects and provide consultancy services for clients; and as well secure sponsorship partnerships for projects. His role as the chairman of the company includes the effective and efficient deployment of available resources to achieve organizational goals, seeing to the profitability of the organization. He also oversees the conceptualization of market penetration strategies, the running/performance of the organization in line with set targets and train subordinates to assume managerial positions; while creating the right environment, for optimal performance. EMEKA IKE’S NOLLYWOOD ACHIEVEMENTS Chief Ike started his acting career in March 1994. He went from being a pioneer actor of Nollywood to become The President of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). He is a top A-List movie jacket face and has featured in over 200 movies. Aside several wards won within and outside Nigeria, Emeka Ike has played lead roles in some Hollywood movies. He is an International Participant in Sundance Film Festival, Salt Lake City, Uttah, U.S.A. HONOURS AND AWARDS Emeka Ike won the maiden edition of Celebrity Gulder Ultimate Search in 2010. He is the Niger Delta Actor of The Year Winner 2009, UN/UPF Peace Ambassador Winner 2008, City People Best Actor Award Winner 2008, ZAFA Builder Charge Award, UK Winner 2006. In 2004, he was adjudged Film Ass. Of Nig America Best Actor, after which he became Hursenburh African Product Franchise Endorser. He is also a member of the International Academy of TV, Arts & Sciences (EMMY Awards), Youth Sports Ambassador, under President Jonathan. TRAINING EXPOSURE In his quest for better performance, Chief Emeka Ike has attended so many conferences and trainings including; Project Management Professional (PMP) Exam Preparatory Course, Basic Leadership Course for National Transformation and Ignite the Leader in You Course. Others are Critical Laws of Leadership course and Effective Plant Management training in Yaba College of Technology EDUCATION Chief Emeka Ike has a Post Graduate Diploma (In View), from Yaba College of Technology. In1993 he obtained a Higher National Diploma also from Yaba College of Technology and Ordinary National Diploma from the same institution in 1990. Between 1986 and 1987 he went for Advance Level Certificate in Igbobi College, but before then he studied for his West African School Certificate (WASC) at the School of Basic Studies Agidingbi, Lagos State between 1980 and1986. His First School Leaving Certificate was from the Ansar- urdeen Primary School, Isolo, Lagos State, between 1974 and 1980. EKEA IKE THE HUMANITARIAN Chief Engr Emeka Ike has been praised from many sectors for fighting for Nigerian people whose rights and voices are trampled into the dust. He has been in the fore front fighting for the right of Nigerian movie artist as The Elected President of The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). But his greatest accolade in humanitarianism came just recently when he was appointed as a member of the board of directors INSTITUTE FOR HUMANITARIAN STUDIES AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT (IHSD). IHSD’s vision is to be world’s most cherished Institute that offers professional and other trainings in humanitarian works as a parameter for accelerated development. With the mission to compliment the efforts of government, United Nations Agencies and other local and international development organizations in Humanitarian services. The board of the institute is being chaired by General Ike Nwachukwu, after the demise of its founding chairman Ambassador Olusola . This institute has the objective; to run courses, conduct professional examinations and other trainings in the field of Humanitarianism and Social Development. The core mandate of the institute is to produce highly skilled professionals acquainted with the ethics and required international standard for the operation of non-profit activities, to promote credibility, quality programme management and result delivery through academic and professional trainings. Furthermore, Chief Engr. Emeka Ike’s company CIS MOVIES AND ENTERTAIMENT LIMITED has been appointed by the institute to organise the first ever Humanitarian Heroes Award. “Humanitarian Hero’s/Ambassadors project is a concept of the Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development of Nigeria with the aim of searching for outstanding individuals with a proven humanitarian track records that are compact, with buoyant mass of energy as well as highly spirited people, who are ready and willing to enforce a radical change in the social and humanitarian sector of the country’’. EMEKA IKE THE AMNESTY VENDOR Following the amnesty program announced by the late Nigerian leader President Shehu Yaradua, to offer peace in the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria, Chief Emeka Ike and other role models were drafted in to work with The Office of the Special Adviser on Niger-Delta Affairs and Presidential Amnesty. Under the able leadership of Dr. Kingsely Kuku as appointed by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Chief Emeka Ike’s school was chosen to train some of the ex agitators in film making and entertainment, fully paid for by the government. He has not only been able to discharge this duty competently; he has also impacted personal knowledge and experience to his students to make them better citizens of their country. Some of the evidential result is that some of his student has waxed their music record while many already have job offers while in school. Interestingly also some of the youth agitators gave their life to Christ while in the academy; a prove of impact made in their lives by Emeka Ike. IN CONCLUSION Emeka Ike has been appointed a Rythem “N”Play Ambassador by His Excellency President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. In the month of September 2013, he was awarded The Most Sort After Actor In Nigeria, by Classic Magazine. Not only that, The American Consulate recently adopted Malaria Attack a movie made by Ambassador Emeka Ike’s students under the Presidential Amnesty Programme, as the official movie for the launch of the anti-counterfeit Malaria Drug Campaign in Nigeria.
