THE ESSENTIAL JESUS - Saturday, November 9. Todays Scripture is Mark 14:32-42. Jesus prays in the Garden of Gethsemane on the night of His betrayal. Peter, James, and John cant seem to stay awake, even though Jesus pleads with them to stay alert. Jesus wrestles in prayer with the thought of His impending death. At the end, Jesus remain resolute is doing what His Father wants Him to do. Can you hear Jesus asking you to stay alert? Do you realize that danger lurks in the darkness? Fortunately, Jesus understands our humanity quite well, so He prods us on with reminders to look to Him and to trust Him just like He trusted His Father. He will always be there to help you! Praise the Lord!
