Personal Application: In what ways has the power of God‚s Word changed your life or pierced your soul? Share. D. Case Study: One of your relatives states, „How does the Word pierce asunder even the thoughts and intents of the heart? Is this a power that works on the human mind so people see themselves honestly and clearly? Is the Word Jesus as God speaking to us, or does it refer to the Bible?‰ How would you respond to your relative? 2. Have a volunteer read John 5:39, John 16:14,15. A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is. B. What Scripture was Jesus referring to and how do they testify of Jesus? C. Personal Application: Why can‚t we trust our feelings? How can our feelings betray or deceive us? Share your thoughts. D. Case Study: One of your friends states, „My church emphasizes the Holy Spirit a lot, because without the Spirit, we can‚t do anything. But does the Spirit supercede the writings of the Scripture?‰ How would you respond to your friend? 3. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 4:1,2. A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is. B. How does the study of the Bible, or the lack of study, affect our relationship with God? C. Personal Application: What obstacles to Bible study and revival do we need to overcome in order to be a part of the last day reformation movement? Share. D. Case Study: One of your neighbors states, „Why is reading about, talking about, and teaching about faith easier than living by faith? Why doesn‚t reading or hearing the truths of the Bible make a difference in a lot of people‚s lives?‰ How would you respond to your neighbor? 4. Have a volunteer read Acts 20:27-32. A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is. B. Why are people so gullible to follow a pastor, teacher, or church leader that may lead them away from Spiritual truth? C. Personal Application: Have you ever come across a church leader who was promoting or believing something not Biblically based or sound? Share. D. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week‚s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
