THE GREATEST GIFT EVER KNOWN For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. ---Romans 5:17 He hung his head low as the verdict was read, “Death.” It was a verdict that was heard in every man’s life from his family tree since his first ancestor committed a crime. But wait, what is this? A man stepped forward and asked the guilty if he would like an abundance of favor shown to him. This favor would put him in a right standing before the court and justice would be accomplished. The man accepted and instead of getting the death penalty he was free to leave the court of condemnation live a life for his Lord. Because of Adam’s fall and sin, all men are born sinners and are headed for death and judgment. But, according to the passage above in context, by God’s grace being received, the free gift of righteousness, or being made right before God, justice has been served on our behalf and we are set free by Jesus to live a life that He desires. “AMAZING GRACE, HOW SWEET THE SOUND THAT SAVED A WRETCH LIKE ME. I ONCE WAS LOST, BUT NOW AM FOUND, WAS BLIND BUT NOW I SEE.” “The free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ out Lord” (Romans 6:23). You cannot earn a gift. It is received freely from the hand that graciously offers it. Have you truly received that free gift from God which is eternal life that comes through Jesus Christ? If not, call on His Name today. “For everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). Don’t delay, if you have not done so, call on Him today and receive the free gift of eternal life, salvation from sin and to a life with Him! Dear Father, thank You for the free gift of eternal life thought Jesus. Thank You that by trusting Him Jesus justice has been served on my behalf by Him. I am grateful to know that I will never be judged for sin and now please help me to live a life for Him by the power of the Holy Spirit.
