THE JACKSONVILLE GULLAH/GEECHEE NATION COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION This group is comprised of original Gullah/Geechee descendants domiciled in the State of Florida. Since 2011, we have been established as a legal extension of the Gullah/Geechee Nation famlee to help bring home our inheritance, birthrights, and historical landmarks relative to our social, economic and educational well being. As a 501c3 non-profit Community Development Corporation, we are devoted to building and preserving Gullah/Geechee land and culture throughout the Diaspora. Designated by Congress in 2006, the Gullah/Geechee land/territory extends from Wilmington, N.C. in the north to Jacksonville, Florida and St. Augustine in the south, 30 miles inland from the coast. It is home to one of Americas oldest, most unique cultures. a tradition first shaped by free and refugee Africans who lived in the southeast region of the United States by-way of the coast West Africa and whom continue their inherited language, norms, and traditions from generation to generation.
