THE LEFT TURNS RIGHT. This is from a newly former left-leaning Peace Now young Jewish woman. A LOT of people in Israel have woken up ...and more are everyday. Look what she wrote below. She is a brave and honest person for writing this publicly, and she is getting flak from her fb friends comments on her wall because of it. She writes: I grew up in Kibbutz Reim, and was raised to be left-wing. Every election we hung banners of peace now on the fence, and handed out stickers at the intersections in Ashkelon and Beersheba. They taught me that we need to give land for peace and it made a lot of sense to me. When I was studying at Sapir College in 2001, I met people from Gush Katif. Every day I would take them to the Kissufim crossing at Gaza, while mocking them, calling them a Mitnachblim [a play on the word settler to mean a terrorist] and I asked them if they brought their passports [to enter the Gaza region]. They never got excited and always replied coolly: you have to be grateful. When we wont be there, you will get it. We are guarding YOU, they would answer and say. And I would just keep asking who will bring something beautiful from duty-free tomorrow when they come from abroad. A few months after they were dragged from their homes, I realized how naive I was. Some girl. Since then, I no longer hang posters and paste stickers up [of peace now]. I have no friends on Facebook who were evacuated from Gush Katif, but I have wanted for years now to ask them for forgiveness. I apologize that I didnt listen to them. I apologize I was a child.
