THE MAGIC OF CHILDHOOD (English Sonnet) When I, in momentary escapade, Reflect upon forgotten youthful days, These present ills depart and simply fade, Memories return in magical ways. Unfolding like my childhoods vivid dreams The sounds and colors come alive and flow To bring again lost faces, scenes it seems, And with them tender feelings that I know. Yesterdays magic sparkles in my mind With songs and voices, fleeting laughter, This aged frame runs with the thoughts I find And time erased, makes everything younger. Each one has a magic door that opens, Our hearts the key that makes us young again. Cynthia Buhain-Baello~~~01.12.15 Sonnet 14-line poem in iambic pentameter.
