THE MISSING TILE SYNDROME Take a look at yourself. My goodness, - TopicsExpress

THE MISSING TILE SYNDROME Take a look at yourself. My goodness, everyone else does but they see you differently than you do. I have a friend who is very hard on himself…he obsesses on the flaws that are unnoticeable to everyone else. He constantly criticizes himself for not being perfect. Know anyone like that? Not only do our “imperfections” make us unique it’s a certain sign that God made us special, unlike anyone else in the universe. Did God make a mistake when He made you? If so, then God Himself would have to be imperfect. Stop focusing on what’s missing in your life; celebrate the gifts you have, the traits which make you YOU! All your friends and family love you just like you are. There is a name for this: it’s called “The Missing Tile Syndrome.” The tragedy of this malady is when we do it to ourselves we also do it to everyone else around us. That has a name, too. It’s called “nitpicking,” the tendency to look at someone’s faults in order to criticize unnecessarily. This is a new year, a time to “begin again,” to start anew, to finally get it right this time! Don’t waste another second criticizing what God has beautifully and wonderfully made…YOU! Amen and amen! Tommy Harrison
