THE MORNING AFTER : Its the dawn of a new day on the shore of La Florida for the few survivors of the 1715 Spanish Plate Fleet that sank in a terrific storm 299 years ago last night. The sight they saw looking out over the ocean was a rude awakening for them all. No mater where they looked they saw wreck debris floating in the water and scattered all over the beaches mixed with the bodies of their dead shipmates. Sharks had arrived on the scene and were feeding on the food and bodies floating on the sea. The masts of galleons show on the horizon in all directions marking the locations of the sunken treasure ships heavily laden with riches on board beyond anyones wildest dreams ! Behind them in the jungle just beyond the dunes they could feel the eyes of the Ais Indians peering at them as they tried to gather anything they could off the beach to give them some small level protection for when the Indians attacked , it was not a question of if they would attack but when. The Ais even after over two hundred years the Spanish had never conquered them and they where known for their hatred of all Spanish people. Their numbers had declined since the fist contact the the Europeans but where still where a dangerous foe of the Spanish. The day is young and with danger all around , what will happen the these stranded sailors ? More tonight , stay tuned ! Jim Wilson
