THE NATURAL PAIN..I have known her since two years ago in the neighbourhood. She is very calm in her shed and most times very moody and unhappy locked up in her shed. She hardly bark unnecessarilly and watches as families enter and leave the compound. She is usually happy when LUCKY, her boyfriend visits her and he was the only one permitted to see her until Lucky got involved in an accident and died few months ago. I could see the sadness in her as she loses her sole companion. Every night, she curls up at a corner after her meal and watch everyone as they interacted with each other. As if God sees her loneliness, she delivered four beautiful children at once and her shed became full. I could see her happiness as she dances and breast feed them. She plays with the children especially the one that have same semblance with her late boyfriend, LUCKY. That was then, i visited the neighbourhood again yesterday and saw LIZZY(thats her name) curled up again and moody. I asked her owner, why is she unhappy and he told me that he sold all the puppies as soon as they are weaned. Poor Lizzy, so sad, she is alone again. LIFE IS LIKE THAT...You are all very happy, living together and as time goes on, everyone depart to form their own family and you and your husband now live alone. Husband or wife can die and you are lonely once again. The pain of loneliness can kill as you sleep and wake up alone...NOBODY BOTHERS to know your feelings, coming once in a while to play with grand pa or grandma. Soon, they depart to their different homes, leaving you with nostalgic feelings as you remember your dead spouse. YOU PRAY YOU DIE TOO, TO BE UNITED WITH YOUR LOVE who chatted and kept you warm then. THAT IS LIFE, JUST LIFE.
