THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW IF A MAN IS TRUSTWORTHY IS TO TRUST HIM... and it is a rare species nowadays.... but I am so fortunate to have met one! I was eating my lunch when I heard someone entered the clinic looking for me, Good afternoon, ara si doc agreda? Mabayad ako tani sang utang ni patient Mr. X! I stopped eating for a while trying to remember the name of the patient mentioned... ahhh.. that patient died about 2-3 months ago because of acute heart attack. I am one of the attending physicians because of his anemia. His wife asked a favor if I can waive my doctors fee because she didnt have enough funds for the hospital bill. She made a promise to come back and pay me as soon as she can... With all the experiences I had with not just 2 or 3 but most of the patients who made the same words had clearly proven that PROMISES ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN. In situations like this one, I just simply remind myself that I once answered in an interview why I want to be a doctor???? BECAUSE I WANT TO SERVE HUMANITY and well, bahala na si Lord!. ;-p I was truly surprised and overwhelm for the first time how this woman, the wife of the patient has kept and been true to her words.... My faith that honesty and integrity still exist even though it has come to extinction... Doc Ethel D. Cordero, this is the patient you referred to me... I am sure nagbalik man sya sa clinic mo... actually, it was not the wife ang nagkadto but girlfriend sang bata sang patient... truly, I say RESPECT & ADMIRATION TO THE FAMILY! HATS OFF! IF YOU WANT TO BE TRUSTED BE HONEST, IF YOU WANT TO BE HONEST, BE TRUE, IF YOU WANT TO BE TRUE, HONOR YOUR COMMITMENT.....
