THE PARTHENON MARBLES Learn the whole story! Regarding the Parthenon Sculptures, we must first remember that we are talking about a most Unique piece of art and probably the most in influential building ever seen in human history.!! Therefore, it will not fire an international exchange of artifacts in a worldwide context. It does not mean that the Rosetta Stone will go back to Egypt...... How would you guys feel if Big Ben and so many other landmarks where dismantled and were exhibited in different parts of the world. Half of Mona Lisa in Australia and the other half in Greenland? Personally, I dont find it right.do you? Any sane person will think right. I think it would be classy for the Brits to return them to the place they were originally born, showing gratitude for the contribution and influence the Greek culture had in the world..... Lastly, for those who believe that the marbles were safe in the museum, I would like to highlight a few things: the marbles were removed/sliced from the Parthenon and shipped to England. Some of them never arrived. There is a BBC documentary for those who would like an indepth analysis over how the British museum used techniques with brushes to scrub them, adding the extra damage....yes believe it obviously such incredible yes punishment of looting its priceles unique works of art! Perfidious Albion, the name that Britain is known around the world (unfortunately), was created out of narrow minded and historically arrogant attitudes like the one with the Parthenon Sculptures.
