THE POOR WIDOW We know the story of the poor widow who gave all - TopicsExpress

THE POOR WIDOW We know the story of the poor widow who gave all she had into the offering basket. Jesus, closely observing the proceedings of the day, once again revealed the justice of Heaven when He judged that she gave more than all the rest…who in “dollar amount” gave more than she. Isn’t the justice of the Lord amazing? We can take our delight in Him…and be so very proud of Him! He brings equity for the meek of the earth and judges righteously. Sometimes we can feel as if we have so little to offer the Lord. According to our eyes it can be easy for us to see why the Lord will bless someone else, because after all, look how much they have to offer! But really that is not the way it works with the Lord. He delights in bringing Heavenly justice to those who lack. That poor widow may never in her earthly lifetime have known the judgment that the Lord passed on her behalf that day. She may not have known till she met Him in paradise! Or maybe not even then! Maybe she will not know till the day we all stand before the judgment seat of Christ…on the day the righteous judgment of God will be revealed. But sooner or later she will be filled with inexpressible joy over the kindness His judgment towards her. She will weep for joy because of her exaltation by the tenderness and love of the Lord. Truly the last are made first in His Kingdom! We can rejoice with her today knowing the joy that is hers! It is no different for anyone else. His justice remains the same. We have what we have…nothing more and nothing less. That’s just fine with God. God will not judge us by what we do not have. And we are no less special to Him when we have less to offer. Actually His eye is especially attentive to the meek of the earth…who delight in Him and are content to bring only what they have to the Lord. I believe the Lord is looking for a loving and faithful bride who simply serves Him with what she has…not with what she does not have. She will be richly rewarded…. Your humbled brother - Ervin
