THE ROSE by: Joanne Baumeister Turner In a golden vase upon the table the fragrant rose displayed Sweet morning dew from its leaves Perfection God had made But round about, clutter strewn Within Rose was concealed Letters, jewelry, sports car keys: Loves of a life revealed Direct TV guide marked the place A torrid movie shown strong perfumes scent filled the air And masked the flowers own. And though with roses beauty Nothing could compare Among the foolish treasures It seemed it wasnt there The Rose is that of Sharon The Lily of the Field The fragrance speaks of Gods sweet love The dew - blood covenant sealed The table is mans own heart Where the Savior chose to live A heart bought with His own Life A gift of life He gives But the foolish treasures block from view He who paid the cost For the Beauty of the Rose, Among the clutters lost.
