THE TEXT: Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for burnt offering in the place of his son. Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh, as it is said to this day, “In the mount of the Lord it will be provided.” Genesis 22 THE APP: Jehovahjireh means “The Lord Will Provide” or “The Lord Who Provides”, signifying the Lord has seen the need and will provide. What a fitting name. God would assume His residence within the Temple’s Holy of Holies on this very Mount. And it would be here that the He would provide the ultimate sacrifice, His own son, Yeshua/Jesus, so that we might have eternal life. Thank you Heavenly Father. God hath provided the Lamb.
