THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES MINDANAO in Mintal, Davao City celebrates its twenty years anniversary in February with the theme, “Ika-baynte saulugon! UPMin, Padayon!” The four consecutive weeks in February are designated as the Humanities & Social Sciences Week, the Science & Mathematics Week, the Students’ Week, and the School of Management Week, all with recreational and academic events that are open to the public. The main academic symposium, Science for Society, will be on February 16, with DOST Undersecretary Amelia Guevara as the keynote speaker. The Colleges Alumni Homecoming, and the Panagtagbo Grand Reunion & Homecoming for UP Mindanao alumni, former faculty, and staff, is on February 21. The UP Alumni Association-Davao Oblation Plaza bayanihan construction project for alumni of all UP campuses, and their families and friends, is on February 28. The Milestones Exhibit of the 20 Years of UP Mindanao will be on display throughout the month at the Administration Building Lobby. Festivities begin on February 2 with the UP Fiesta opening program featuring performances and tours for visiting high school students.
