THE WATER FALL: For years and I mean years, even in some churches - TopicsExpress

THE WATER FALL: For years and I mean years, even in some churches now, there has been much confusion and contention about WHAT NAME to be baptized in. As a child I watched churches split over this type of foolery, I mean really? Let me help somebody, somewhere to understand something first and foremost, BAPTISM is SYMBOLIC...But these arguments are arising from the scripture taken out of context in Acts 19:1-5, when The Apostle Paul asked some disciples in Ephesus had they received the the holy spirit since they believed, they responded that they had never heard of the holy spirit, then Paul asks the next question, INTO WHAT WERE YOU BAPTIZED? Meaning, what beliefs did you acknowledge at the time of your baptism, they responded , whatever John the Baptist taught us, Paul then assured them that Johns baptism was indeed that of repentance, turning the hearts of the people to thee ONE that would come after him ,CHRIST JESUS, when they heard this, they then according to verse 5 were baptized in the name of that ONE, The Lord Jesus Christ.... NOW, let me help somebody sitting in sheer confusion over this argumentum ad absurdum initiated by the present day Church, THE ONLY REASON that there was any comparatives in the two baptisms, is because JOHN was an assistant ,forerunner unto to Jesus in baptizing the people, Notice after Jesus came, John stopped baptizing, he knew the minds of people, so John said in St.John 3:30 ,He must increase, but I must decrease. So in order for the people to know that John was not the ONE, merely preparing them for CHRIST, who has the power to baptize with water and the holy spirit, they were asked by Paul were you baptized in Johns name or Jesus name, So there would be no comparisons of who was greater between John & Jesus as the people in Lystra made between Paul & Barnabas ...THERE IS NOW no forecaster to Jesus presence in the earth realm except the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, through US, so NOW when one is baptized, it is of a surety that there is NO question as unto whom they are baptized, No more John, JUST JESUS...So whether you baptize in the Father,Son, and Holy Ghost or Jesus name, it is ALL in ALL, Jesus said, I and my father are one (St.John 10:30). But what does all of this mean, if the heart isnt plowed and repentant ? We have to stop arguing over things that make no sense in HEAVEN OR IN THE EARTH... One Lord, One faith, One Baptism (Ephesians 4:3-6).....The most important thing to remember, is to make sure your soul is baptized with the Spirit of the Holy Ghost, which empowers us to live upright before HIM....Selah .+TLP
