THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR! Merry Christmas! I am thankful for the air I breathe, the stars that shine so bright at night and the moon that fills the air. Im thankful for a world that is full of wonder and awe because of beauty in nature, so many species of animals, birds, reptiles, fish, and insects. Im grateful especially for the mockingbirds, who have sweetly serenaded me during lifes most difficult moments and most wonderful moments. Im thankful For health, mobility and strength of not only me, but my kids and family so far away. Im thankful for my weightloss and lean body that allows me to do so many wonderful things. I am most particularly thankful for the people in my life; the family I was born with, the family Ive made my own, my dear loved ones who have since passed, my close friends, my newer friends and my longtime friends; my acquaintances, and people everywhere. Im thankful for the internet and social media for keeping me connected with the majority of my friends and family who are so far away that I would otherwise never get to see. I have so many wonderful memories and can relive them in my mind or to through old picturebooks to see the faces of those so close to me that are no longer here. Im thankful for so many things, theres reason to give cheer. So if you feel down this Christmas, just take 5 minutes to remember all you have to be thankful for. I tackle fears and failures with a vigor instilled in me because of the trials Ive endured in my life and come out stronger on the other side. God has given us so much to be thankful for. Dont waste time dwelling on your ills and pains. Focus on whats so good and wonderful. Im going to take all these old clothes Ive outgrown, some shoes I no longer sheer and drive to downtown LA today and give hope and the real reason for the Christmas season to people who are living in the streets this Christmas Day. I have a home and a roof over my head, for I am blessed and ever so thankful with an intellectual mind that has allowed me to thrive. I wish you a very Merry Christmas to you and everybody!
