THIS NATION NIGERIA IS IN TROUBLE NOT BECAUSE WE HAVE BAD - TopicsExpress

THIS NATION NIGERIA IS IN TROUBLE NOT BECAUSE WE HAVE BAD LEADERS, BUT BECAUSE WE HAVE BAD FOLLOWERS; Nigeria has one president, 36 governors, 36 deputy governors, 42 ministers and maybe 1 million aids, DG, PS etc all in all both in federal, states and local govt level. Mathematically, 1million is not up to 1% of 185 Million total population of Nigeria, how then can we now say it is the 1 Million that is the problem when 184 million cannot ask question and hold 1 million accountable? How do we get it this bad as a people? Act of governance has been reduced to act of sporting. we look/ support political party the way we support Arsenal and Chelsea. We have all turned ourselves to fan, just like Arsenal fan, Chelsea fan and Man u, now we have PDP fan, APC fans, LP fans. In soccer, we support each team not because we know them, not because we share from their salary but we construed our mindset to support them either they play good game or rubbish in a tournament, their success has no bearing in our life. Today, we see our people becoming a fans of PDP, APC, LP, they support them blindly in whatever they do forgetting that our future and that of our unborn children are at stake. My 3-year old son was in Nigeria few months ago, he saw a man in tie by the road side urinating, he asked dad, is this man crazy? Thank God for a sound-proof generator in Ikoyi, he didnt understand their is a noise until he went with his mum to ijesha and had to be kept awake by the noise of a generator. In his little mind, he thinks darkness is only outside when we travel along the suburbs and country side at night. He got back to Ikoyi, he felt some relief because life still look like what it was where he is coming from except for few trashes and some people walking dogs that defaecate and owners refused to clean the mess. He was so inquisitive and i am proud of him, i saw them off to the airport and he asked daddy, when are you coming home?. He got back to his base he said daddy , we are home. I feel pained that my boy dont see my country as home anymore, He sees Ikoyi as a home but not his mothers village, wondering what he will says about my home town. The remotest village in US has all these basic necessities of life that we parade as affluence in Ikoyi. When will all these basic things be available in Nigeria?
