THIS POST IS NASTY….PLEASE DON’T READ, DON’T COMMENT! At the post office, a man is addressing an envelope. He is decently dressed – a brown pair of khaki trousers beneath a long sleeved, shirt the colour of which appears to have gone through several transitional periods from white to semi white, to something like white, then to cream, then yellow, and with a bit bleaching back to something like white. He sees me, recognises me and dishes out a large grin that exposes a set of teeth which appear literally to be pleading for some paste and brush on top of a gum that exposed some blood and food stains. He is done with writing down the address on the envelope. He grabs the sticky end of the envelope, takes it upwards towards his mouth, spits on it and kisses it from end to end. The envelope however refuses to stick and close. The post man behind the counter collects the envelope, notices that it is still open, takes it straight to his mouth and kisses the envelope just like the other man just did. He just consumed saliva. Meanwhile, my mechanic just loosened a nut from part of my automobile engine and before I can say “Jack” it lands in his mouth. The last mechanic who checked the problem did the same. My mechanic just ate saliva. Have you eaten saliva today?
