THIS SOUTH AFRICAN THING: While we were growing up, the Governments of Generals Yakubu Gowan, Muritala Ramat Mohammed, Olusegun Obasanjo, Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Shagari, Generals Muhanmadu Buhari and Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, spent tens of billions of dollars (pardon me for the statistics may not readily be available as such was spent mainly covertly), on the project called the dismantling of Apartheid South Africa. Today, the primary beneficiary is the African National Congress (ANC) black dominated regime in South Africa. When Nelson Mandela was released in 1990 and the infrastructures of Apartheid were dismantled, Nigeria heaved a sigh of relief. She believed that she had achieved her very hearts desire. She believed that things will now get better for the African continent. In those days, Nigeria joined the Non-Alliged movement, for the sake of African emancipation. She lost all the opportunities available for her to get the best of support from the leading nations. Her vested interest was in conflict with that of her colonial master Great Britain. We were almost brainwashed into believing that the best thing that could happen to us as a people and to the whole world, was the political emancipation of Africa. Everybody believed it. Everybody pursued it All our musicians, Sonny Okosun, and his contemporaries had only one stated objective and only one clearly defined mission. That was to free Mandela and South Africa. The Native doctors and witches of our land even offered to use juju to fight Apartheid to its knees. Churches prayed for the liberation of South Africa, with all their might. Finally,South Africa is free. The General Obasanjo led eminent persons group did a lot of good work. We supported South Africa with hard earned dollars, military hardware, United Nations Security Council,Organization of African Unity and Non aligned Movement advocacies. We used every means to help South Africa. Today, what have we gained in return. a. Massive discrimination against Nigerians that live in South Africa. Murder follows murder. b. Spare heading of the alliance against the stated position of Nigeria against The Gay Right Movement. c.Moral support for Boko Haram and any other action of insurgency against the same Nigerians who almost became bankrupt in their bid to liberate South Africa. d. Direct attack against the national interest and survival of Nigeria by alignment with the developed nations that have refused Nigeria access to arms in the insurgency battle. The reason is not far fetched. Our stated national interest is at variance with the short and long term interest of the developed nations. They prefer fighting a proxy war with Nigeria through Boko Haram. The lives of Nigerians mean nothing for them. e. Rather than help us as we helped them, our brethren in South Africa, are busy seizing money sent to buy arms. It is being done secretly because we have no access to direct arms purchase from Europe and America. The people that we assisted so heavily are today helping to sink us as a people and a nation. f. Today, they go to town with news of seizure of money sent for armsarms purchase. What a pity? This was a people for whom we became a debtor nation. They are helping to decapitate us as a people. g. Even with South African business interest like MTN, multi choice, Shop right etc, our national interest have been compromised to the fullest. The Warning Sign: I am not implying that every accident is a mark of divine punishment, but what happened recently at Synagogue may be a way of God asking South Africa to have a change of heart. They identify the gains inherent in Christian pilgrimage and yet help to aid and a bait the gradual decapitation of Christianity in Nigeria. May God touch the heart of our brethren in South Africa. We have invested blessings into their lives. They must not continue rewarding is through the process of helping to destroy us as a people. (Continues later.)...GOOD AFTERNOON PALLIES
