THIS is what happens to people when communities FAIL to self-police... How did this man wind up in that situation in the first place, being handled by people more interested in submission than in resolution? Does anyone doubt, had the members of his community dealt with this, instead of calling in those sworn to protect and to serve, that more humanity would have been shown to him, and less fear and resistance generated in him? Had the community handled him, then called law enforcement, do you think taking him him into custody might have been accomplished without taking him down, literally and figuratively? Lets not overlook, the VERY high likelihood that the person who called for law enforcement, and NOT the community leadership (if any exists), is black like him. ...................................................................................................................
