THORP, WA. ‘Marshal’ is a 4 year old titled BLM Mustang gelding from the Warm Springs HMA (Herd Management Area) in Oregon. He stands right at 15hh and is STOUT. Marshal is green broke and will make someone an excellent trail horse in time. He will ride in an arena, but it’s not his favorite. I adopted him in July 2013 when he had about ten rides on him. He was ridden throughout the Summer and then sat until I hauled him to MT in December and had a trainer put 30 days of arena work on him (shown in video in comments). He has sat again since then until very recently. When I put him in the round pen after sitting for 6 months, he did buck but then calmed back down into his normal, sweet self. He’s very food motivated and will do anything for a treat but is not mouthy. Does not bolt, bite, or kick. Stands tied, loads and hauls nice (has been to Montana and back twice), has been ridden around large herds of cattle, fine with dogs. He is being ridden in a snaffle bit and no spurs. Teeth floated, one wolf tooth removed, sheath cleaned 3/29/2014. Feet trimmed every 8 weeks. This horse is an easy keeper and probably should not be on grass 24/7. My farrier says as long as he maintains a healthy diet and exercise he should never need shoes. Reason for selling: I have three green horses, a demanding job, and a husband who needs a broke horse to learn to ride on… unfortunately that means someone needs to go. We love Marshal and want him to go to the best home possible for him. This horse needs and wants to be used, he is eager to please, he is a go-getter.
