TIME TO SHINE! Disclaimer: These views are souly of the Track Director of Jeff Chevalier and not the track. I was asked to retype a E-mail that I wrote a couple of years ago, but I will not do it because times always change. I will expound on the original post as follows: BMK PASSION!!!! For those who get it, you got it! For those who are new to the sport, let me explain. There is no sport like BMX, where parents and children can bond. Not only do you get to interact with your child, you can actively participate in how the sport evolves. You have the ability to become chief mechanic to affecting how a track will be layed out with participation. Try doing that in football, baseball, soccer etc. You truly reap what you sow. For those who do not know me, I am just a guy with a child ( teenager 16x) who loves what he does, and I love to be around him and support him as much as I can. We took over this track in May of this year. We, consists of me, Stephen Gerardi and Robert Fisher as primary responsible personnel. For those who do not know the history, Stephen, basically built this track 7 years ago without any County support, from his back pocket and his back muscles and a few others. Rob and I got involved 3 -4 years later. In 2011, the track was passed down to a couple of predessesors. Over the last year, things were not managed in a proper way. That will be the last time that I will ever acknowledge this event. It is over, and burried!! We will overcome ---- I just did not know how much of a PR nightmare that I had got myself into! For the life of me, I could not figure out why our rider count and participation level was/is so low. We basically had to start back up with new riders. Once and for all, I want the BMX community to know, that Riverview is 100% totally commited to BMX Passion as long as I am the Track Director! Please do not punish the clay and or facilities for past disgressions. You do not know, or ever will know how hurt my family and rider were " hurt " through lost points and money. For the last 4 years that I have been invlolved with BMX, we have always said, that Riverview is a diamond in the rough. We are wild, we are big, we are edgy! We are your Black Diamond ski slope. We have 58 acres of God given country, we have stars at night you do not see in the city, we also have wild pigs we need to control. We are Riverview USA BMX, and it is our TIME TO SHINE!!!! As always, In all my "mental" posts, If you like what I say, please share, Riverview is a Great Track, and with a little time, will get even greater!! I am only 1 guy, I acknowledge, I might not even be a very good track director, but one thing that I can assure you is, I have BMX Passion!!! Jeff TD
