TIPPING THE WAITRESS Have you noticed how bright and intelligent almost all waitresses are? Have you also discovered that they have private lives with issues, needs, problems and joys? That they have personalities? And then, when you leave, do you leave her a generous tip to say thank you for reminding you that there are wonderful young people on the earth? OR does your waitress offer you your one-and-only opportunity to feel powerful and in control; to be as rude as you like; to have a tantrum of righteous indignation, and to sweat your small stuff in flames of gloriously ugly words. Does your waitress just stand there and take it with a smile, like Saint Joan burning at the stake - so that you can leave your table feeling vindicated and relieved of all your personal tensions, which have nothing to do with her? And do you leave her a generous tip to say thank you for the therapy session? ~Soma
