TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS When life throws you a curve ball, do you just give up, walk away from the game, blaming the Coach for your misfortune? Do you have a praise/blame relationship with the Lord, a relationship in which you cant thank Him enough when you are blessed over and over and your life is beautiful, but call the blame on Him for every bad event, every trial, every challenge? Although Scripture says, For whom the Lord loves He chastens,... (Hebrews 12:6a NKJV), it isnt saying that every bad thing comes from God! In one object lesson Jesus gave His disciples, He compared the love and actions of an earthly father to that of the Heavenly Father: If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? (Matthew 7:11 KJV). God does not cause bad things to happen; He uses those negative events in our lives to challenge and strengthen our faith. However, faith can only be strengthened if we place total trust in the Lord! Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them. They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed. (Psalm 22:4-5 NKJV). A devotional earlier this week spoke of broken trust and how hard that is to repair. Thankfully, the Triune Godhead: Jesus, God the Father, the Holy Spirit, will never break our trust in Him! We might let Him down by sinful action (or inaction), but He is always there for us to depend on! In my Jeanne
