TMC stir against Centre’s atrocity Kolkata 16 October: Trinamul Congress MPs, two ministers and Trinamul Yuva from the state today demonstrated at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi against the Centre’s atrocities. “We have seen in recent times how the CBI is being used politically to stop the ongoing developmental surge in the state. The Opposition has teamed up and has unleashed a smear campaign full of slurs and lies,” said Mr Abhishek Banerjee MP and Trinamul Yuvas national president. “Communal violence is alarmingly increasing across the country. Common people are suffering because of the economic policies of the Centre. West Bengal is not getting her due funds,” he said at the protest rally. Mr Banerjee said this protest rally is against the Centres negligent attitude towards Bengal and “the voice of protests from Bengal have reached Delhi as Jantar Mantar is teeming with people.” He also said Mamata Banerjee and Trinamul will keep fighting for the common people. Entire India is witnessing public support for Didi. She has the backing of students as well as the youth. We are ready to lay down our lives for Mamata Banerjee. We will continue the fight for our rights,” Mr Banerjee said. Mr Mukul Roy, partys all India general secretary said, We would like to see this protest to be flared up in every corner of the country. Its been 120 days since the PM came to power. Why has the black money not returned to India? We dont use money power to control the media. We have 46 MPs now. The number will go up in the future. Trinamuls national spokesperson Derek O Brien said: “The BJP govt set up a world record yesterday for the most money spent in a single day campaign. I would request the media to find out the facts about Bengal, which is leading in every sector. Didi is leading us.” Mr Subrata Bakshi , Trinamuls state president said: “Mamata Banerjee went on hunger-strike for 26 days in 2006. She has restored democracy in Bengal. We will continue our fight against communal forces in India. Our battle has just begun.” sns
