*** TNS WEBSITE UPDATE AND REQUEST. ALL PLEASE READ *** Hey gang, Pat here. Those whove clicked a story link that directs to tapnapsnap website already noticed, but for everyone else, the website has been overhauled. Its not totally done yet, but a ton is. To keep it short, migration to new server is complete, the new server SMOKES the old one, and theres some backend stuff (Content Delivery Network, proper cache handling, APC, etc) that not only affirms stability when you guys bombard it, but more importantly, should greatly increase your speed while browsing. Regardless of your location, the CDN weve incorporated SHOULD (and so far has, according to the stats im reading) greatly increase speed for everyone, regardless of where you are across the world. With that said, Apologies for the delay in announcing it, but Ive done so twice before and then you lovely kids decided to use it in mass and brought it down. Had to test it completely this time to avoid looking like a moron. SO FAR *knock on wood*, were good. With that said, I do have one request: Should you choose to utilize the facebook comments to interact with the stories on the site... PLEASE carry it the same way you do here. Any comment that goes to the site has to be physically approved before it shows up. To be frank and risk undermining my own argument.... If you are gonna be THAT person...youre better off posting it here. Here it has a chance to possible be seen for 5 minutes before its removed and you are possibly 86d from the page. On the website, not so much. Every comment must be approved by an admin before it shows up, and the same hide and ban user buttons exist. To be banned here is to be banned on the site, and vice versa. I hate to bring negativity to what is meant to be a positive post.... but unfortunately, a quick look at website posts made today kinda points to my need to do so. That said, everyone else enjoy the new site. Again, it is NOT totally done. Its quite basic still, but that will change in the next 4-5 days. For now, give it a test run and get a FEEL (BAM!) for it. :) As always, thanks for your continued support of TNS, everyone. Thugs need hugs.
