TO ALL SIKKIMESE !!! _________________ INVITATION Denzong Welfare Association, Gangtok (DWAG) is holding a massive meeting on 14th September, 2013 at the Auditorium Hall, Sir Tashi Namgyal Senior Secondary School, Development Area, Gangtok. The meeting is being called to resolve some agendas, set other agendas and take future course of actions in the matter of the Writ Petition (Civil) No. 59 of 2013 filed in the Supreme Court of India by the representatives of the plainsmen residing in Sikkim. For public participation, debate, interaction and resolution in the meeting, the agendas set forth by DWAG are: 1. Sikkimese people demand was to withdraw the said petition from the Supreme Court of India by the petitioners. They did not withdraw the petition, which is malignant to Sikkimese people. Therefore, we continue our protest against them and are determined to protect the rights and privileges of Sikkimese people enshrined by the Constitution of India. 2. Instead of withdrawing the said petition, the petitioners have complained before the court that because of the threats received to their lives from Sikkimese people they are compelled to go for some amendments in the said petition. Through the different sources of media, we have come to know that the petitioners have amended the Prayer ‘C’ leaving the Prayer ‘A’ as it is, which is more dangerous to Sikkimese people. This proves that the petitioners are completely Anti-Sikkimese. 3. Through the different sources of media, we have come to know that the petitioners have made amendments from the Page 1 to 13 only and the remaining part is left untouched. This shows the petitioners have been keeping double standards in their approach and appeal given in the media to Sikkimese people. 4. To make Central Government aware and cautious regarding Sikkimese’s concerns in the matter of the said petition, do we need to raise our voices at Jantar-Mantar, New Delhi if the petitioners turn down our demands or not? 5. DWAG has the fourth vision that may start with non-cooperation movement and the communal disharmony by any miscreant at any place because of the petitioners’ vicious attitude towards Sikkimese people as has been evidenced by the said petition. This can be a security issue to the petitioners. Therefore, we request the petitioners to rethink to withdraw the petition. 6. Sikkimese people to be more vigilant and ensure that this kind of willful conspiracy would not happen or would not dare to do against us by such wicked people in future. 7. To raise Sikkimese’ concerns on the said petition, a ‘Memorandum’ to be submitted to the President of India, the Prime Minister, the Leader of Opposition in the House, the Governor of Sikkim, the Chief Minister of Sikkim and the Members of Parliament. 8. Other future course of actions in the matter of the said petition to be resolved in the meeting. 9. To have public debate/discussion on the Companies Act, 2013. On behalf of Sikkimese people, DWAG cordially invites all individuals, learned scholars, intellectuals, NGOs, Associations and Federations from all nook and corners of Sikkim to participate in the said meeting to present their opinions and views regarding the agendas set forth by the DWAG. DWAG reiterates that your valuable presence in the said meeting will determine the future course of actions for safeguarding and protecting the rights and privileges of Sikkimese people given by the Constitution of India.
