TODAY, years ago, I became the mother to a little girl Meagan Elaine Ahlstrom. With a heavy heart I prayed desperately last night that God would wake me up this morning on her birthday with a thankful heart rather than letting my soul be overcome with deep grief of her loss. My prayers were answered as HE woke me up before the dawn with one of my life memory Scriptures from this difficult journey.With that, I want to profess out loud that I am so very grateful HE let me be Meagans mother and her best friend--even if for a short while.You see, I am thankful that though I was in a terrible car accident at 5 mths pregnant w/ Meagan--hit from behind at a red light so hard that my vehicle was pushed across 4 lanes of busy traffic--HE said, No! I was injured, in terrible pain for the remaining 20 wks BUT her days were ordained and HE gave us a miracle!! I am thankful HE said No! when I rushed her to the ER at 9mths old w/ a106 degree fever! After tests, the drs said she had a blood disease! With family & church praying, later tests confirmed she had acute tonsillitis and a serious viral infection. She was released 2 days later with no lasting affects! I am thankful when her life was threatened in 2008 and she almost died HE said, NO! and spared her. Meagan was created for a purpose and nothing could pluck her out of HIS hands until He said, YES! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVEY! I celebrate you today and the grace HE has shown us! My memory verse...with a twist:
